Kate Sketo

A Huntsville native, I attended Auburn University, followed by law school at Cumberland School of Law. I was admitted to practice law in the State of Alabama in 2004 and then obtained a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) at Auburn University.
An active duty Army spouse for many years, I was honored to serve as a JAG intern at Fort Campbell in 2002. Helping soldiers and their families with estate planning, powers of attorney, and landlord issues grew my passion for service. Additionally, I assisted with criminal matters and reviewed and re-wrote Army regulations for the post.
I worked for Kroger Corporation in their Nashville Division where I reviewed contracts for common area maintenance and evaluated accruals for individual stores within their nation-wide banner brands of grocery retail and fuel centers.
I have worked with private law firms which specialize in worker’s compensation and real estate matters, both residential and commercial.
Community service is important to me and I am currently serving on the Alabama Law Institute Guardianship & Conservatorship Committee. I serve on the Huntsville Ballet Guild Board, and have served on the Huntsville Pilgrimage Association Board. I have been a leader in both the Boy Scouts and the Girl Scouts, and was involved in leadership of the 326 Engineer Battalion Family Readiness Group at the 101st Airborne Division.
I remain dedicated to my community by accepting appointments for non-capital indigent criminal clients and for our county’s mental health commitment process clients.
